On this page is some interesting information on finger eleven. I think you'll find this page very informative with lots of rare info. That info includes:
| Band Member (with pic) | Age |
| Scott Anderson (lead vocals) | 23 |
| James Black (lead guitar, vocals) | 23 |
| Rick Jackett (guitar) | 24 |
| Sean Anderson (bass) | 25 |
| Rich Beddoe (drums) | 22 |
Former Member: Rob Gommerman was the drummer for the band up until after the recording of Tip, he left to concentrate on academic matters.
Notes: Click on name for picture (all pics except for Rich's are from official fanpage). All ages are from sometime in '98 (sorry, not sure exactly when), and I don't know when their birthdays are. If you know, I'd really appreciate them if you'd let me know.
Here's a little info on how Finger Eleven got started:
The band started out with just scott and james in a basement. Scott was on drums and James played guitar. Then all of a sudden Rob comes along and he happens to be an excellent drummer so the guys were like, 'hey Scott you did some musicals at school right', he was like 'yeah', 'so you can sing right?', 'I guess' he said, so they handed him a mic and thats how it began, basically. They were a cover band at that time and still in high school, in fact, their first gig was at their high school Christmas concert, they did three songs, I don't know which, though. Their name at that time was Stone Soul Picnic, and they mainly played Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tragically Hip covers. The name 'Rainbow Butt Monkeys' comes from those mandril monkeys with the colorful butts. They were talking about stuff and james says to everyone, what are those rainbow butt monkey things called refering mandrils or whatever they are called. They liked the way it sounded so much they decided to use it as their name.
Bio contributed by Mike Duyn.
Here are some covers they've performed in the past:
(if you know of any others, please let me know!)
As Rainbow Butt Monkeys:
As Finger Eleven:
Notes: When finger eleven plays Welcome to the Machine, they play it with Glimpse, they combine them somehow. I'm not sure how they do this, I've never seen it performed, so I can't really explain it.
Also, in August of '99, the band recorded their version of Walking In My Shoes. In January of 2000, it was put up on the official site for our listening pleasure, click here to listen.
Here's a small list of titles of unreleased tracks:
Notes: These are songs were written and performed by them when they were the Rainbow Butt Monkeys. Most unreleased tracks are not titled.
Recent Notes: Greyest of the Blue Skies is no longer an unreleased track. It was recorded, renamed, and released as a single by the band. It's now called Suffocate and appears on the Scream 3 Soundtrack. Click here to listen.

Email Mike at f11md@hotmail.com for info on how to get a hold of these bootlegs.
Here's a still from one of the video tapings he has of Rainbow Butt Monkeys.
Rick Jackett uses a Tom Anderson guitar, a guitar that's custom made out of California. He also uses a Paul Reed Smith (these guitars rule!).
James Black has two of the same guitars, Fender Telecaster Plus. A black one and a sunburst.
The gauge of strings that they use are 10-52. They've been trying different string companies lately and have found that they both seem to prefer Dean Markley over the rest.
Sean (bassist) uses a medium gauge 5 string set. He uses a four string bass so he just uses the bottom four strings of that set.
